Firefighters Meet Saved Fire Victim

On May 4th, Glen Anderson was rescued by firefighters from his burning house in Elsmere. On August 13th, Anderson visited with the firefighters and paramedics who saved his life that day.

I95 MVC w- Rollover
August 11, 2014
At 8:15, Monday morning Five Points along with Minquadale and WFD Squad 1 were alerted for a motor vehicle crash with a rollover. Five Point's ambulance A-17 arrived first on scene with Command 17, Lt. Tom Manley, to find one vehicle (a Mini Cooper) over turned. The occupant of the the vehicle was self extricated and transported with minor injuries by a private ambulance. The crew from Five Points' rescue 17-6 helped with clearing debris. Other units responding were canceled...


Morning Shed Fire
August 10, 2014
Around 6 AM on Sunday, August 10th, Five Points along with Elsmere, Cranston Heights, and Wilmington Fire Department were alerted for a shed on fire with extension to the residence in the 200 block of Matthes Avenue. Chief Chuck Hayes arrived first on scene to find a shed fully involved with fire extended to the roof of the home. Five Points' engine 17-4 and Elsmere's engine 16-5 arrived on scene simultaneously...
